Questions and Answers

What is counselling?

Counselling provides a safe, impartial and confidential space in which to explore your feelings. Talking to a professional in a confidential setting, secure in the knowledge that what you say will be respectfully listened to, can sometimes help us to understand what is making us feel a certain way.

How do we start?

We will start with an initial assessment, which will be a discussion about what has brought you to counselling. We will discuss the therapeutic contract and what you are hoping to gain from our time together, which will also help you decide whether I am the right counsellor for you.

How many sessions do I need?

There is no set answer to this, some people choose to see a counsellor for a long time, others are happy with just a few sessions.  Some people start counselling with a clear idea of how many sessions they want, while others decide as they go along.  We can discuss this in the initial assessment and will review during therapeutic work together.

How much does it cost?

The fee for individuals is £60 per 50mins for daytime sessions (10am-5pm)  and £65 for evening sessions (6pm-9pm)payment can be made by cash or credit/debit card at the time of your appointment, or by bank transfer in advance.
